Originally from the hills of Eastern Kentucky, I am a journalist and editor currently based out of Louisville.

My most recent foray into journalism was on the audience engagement team for McClatchy Media. From 2021 to 2025 I was the primary audience producer for the Lexington Herald-Leader, Belleville News Democrat and Centre Daily Times. During my tenure I focused on newsletter products, vertical video, SEO and content coaching. In September 2025, I was promoted to Deputy Audience Editor for Tier 2/3 markets.
Prior to McClatchy, I spent three years as a reporter, and later editor, of the Oldham Era. The Era is the newspaper of record for Oldham County, Kentucky.
I started my journalism career at Western Kentucky University’s student newspaper, the College Heights Herald. I was on staff of the Herald all four years and was the editor-in-chief my senior year.
I graduated WKU, and the WKU Mahurin Honors College, in 2018. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a minor in Citizenship & Social Justice. For the Honors College, I complete a thesis which examined the roles of journalists in human rights movements that passed with distinction.
When I’m not entirely consumed with reporting, editing, or researching, I try to make time to relax by reading non-academic journals and attempting to immerse myself in nature every now and again.
